Writing this blog has been an enlightening experience so far. I have discovered a thriving community defining a healthy form of masculinity. Men are often portrayed as toxic, robotic or buffoons. There are many men who want to change the stereotypes. They also want to understand their role in our changing culture.
I have found many resources dedicated to middle-aged men’s health. Men have been ignoring their health at their own peril. They are also the largest growing demographic dealing with depression and suicide.
The following websites are leading the way:
1. Don’t Change Much
Don’t Change Much is a non-profit run by the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation (CMHF). They inspire Canadian men to live healthier lives. The site provides reliable information and easy tips that men can act on. They want to help men value their health and stop putting it on the back burner. They also want to help society recognize the value of healthier men.
2. Heads Up Guys
Heads Up Guys is a resource for supporting men in their fight against depression. They provide tips, tools, information about professional services, and stories of success. They are based at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and funded through individual donations. Their initial start-up funding came from the Movember Foundation.
3. The Good Men Project
The Good Man Project offers a glimpse of what enlightened masculinity might look like in the 21st century. They explore the world of men and manhood in a unique way. Writers for this blog tackle the issues and questions that are most relevant to men’s lives. They write about fatherhood, family, sex, ethics, war, gender, politics, sports, pornography, and aging. Their content reflects the multidimensionality of men. Articles can be funny or serious and generally challenge cultural notions of what a “real man” must be.
4. Midlife Contrarian
This blog aims at debunking the myth of midlife crisis, challenging related limiting beliefs, and empowering men in midlife to be vibrant, present and powerful. It’s for men in midlife who feel there is much more ahead in life than slowing down and just getting ready for retirement. It helps you take advantage of the knowledge and experience you’ve acquired until now, and design the life of your dreams. It provides you with ideas and inspiration to push forward and overcome your fears.
5. Menprovement
Menprovement is on a mission to build better men through inspiring content, communities and experiences. Major categories are sex, dating, success, health and manliness. The founders have struggled with anxiety themselves and are practicing what they preach. They want to help men commit to self-growth and tap into their greatest potential.

The Art of Manliness define themselves as a one-stop resource for practical advice on every aspect of a man’s life. They tackle subjects from the philosophical and serious to the practical and fun. They pride themselves in providing content that is intelligent, thoughtful, practical and clickbait-free.
7. All-Pro Dad
All Pro Dad is on a mission to help men love and lead their families well. They are committed to bringing intentional focus to fathers around the world. They inspire men to embrace who they are, gain tenderness of heart and boldness of character as dads and husbands. They provide guidance and practical tips in raising kids in a life-giving way.
8. Order of Man
Order of Man is on a mission to give men a community and resource to become better in all facets of life. Topics range from self-mastery to family, from money to contribution, and everywhere in between. They have weekly blog posts and a podcast.
9. Men’s Fit Club
Men’s Fit Club empowers men to get the most out of their lives. They go beyond exercise and diet tips to address the broad range of issues that men face on a daily basis. Topics include recreation, finding love, sexual health and even fashion advice.
10. Anabolic Men
Anabolic Men is a men’s health resource that focuses on evidence-based hormone optimization. Their goal is to provide readers with fact-checked, evidence-based, effective, and safe information to improve hormonal health through lifestyle changes, nutrition optimization, and supplementation.
Great rundown of resources for men! It’s crazy how much women have to turn to (too many info in my opinion) while men have to really scour. Feel like it’s such a growing area- offering men advice and resources specifically for them.
